1,000 years before the pioneer explorers entered the area from the Eastern states five Native American tribes lived in this region. The Yuki, Nomlaki, Wintu, Patwin and Pomo. Over 1,800 sites have been discovered to posses Native artifacts and records from these tribes in the area. Great opportunity to soak in California Native American History. Learn about and see The Bloody Rock Massacre site, just a quick drive and short hike from lodge.
